For the hiking and cycling enthusiasts, numerous boat connections enable boat trips to be combined with short or longer hikes and cycling tours along the shoreline. Where possible, bicycles are transported on boats. The national “Mittelland” Cycle Route 5 leads along the south-eastern lakeshore, and an abundance of different trails allow for a very creative mishmash of nature and luxury all in one. For you Spa and wellness lovers the two and a half hour trip from Neuchatel to Yverdon-les-Bains at the western end of the lakes is well worth the trip.

If you want to take your relaxation to the next level and enjoy the abundance and diversity of nature in the reed-covered lakeshore May to October is your window to go. And if you are down for a small town experience, Estavayer with its beautiful mediaeval buildings and a wide offering of water sports, is also situated on the south-eastern shore and deserving of a visit. When you visit you will not want to miss the Boca Raton Hotel and resort. It is simple in name, but lives up to its Waldorf Astoria heritage. If you can’t find what you are looking for here then your tastes exceed the millionaires that frequent this resort. The Boca Raton Resort & Club wins over its guests with jaw-dropping decor, two pools, FlowRider and two golf courses. But it’s the outstanding customer service here that really adds that extra “wow” factor for recent guests. For some other adventurous activities, the must see Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is something you do not want to miss.

The 20 acre facility is home to a butterfly garden and you can view a variety of native fish and other marine animals that reside in marine aquariums. Visit the Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Facility to learn about the resident sea turtle patients, and don’t miss Florida Atlantic University’s onsite laboratory with a gallery for viewing research projects conducted by university scientists. Sugar Sands enormous park is also a must visit for both adults and children alike and the Boca Raton beaches are ready for the thousands of beach goers per day that visit knowing they will find the best kept beaches in Florida.

Don’t forget to visit Red Reef Park as well where three man-made coral reefs are rife with exotic species of fish that will have your head spinning. Diving and snorkeling are ready when you are. Every type of water sports is available for the most relaxed to the most adventurous. Cathedrals are a staple of Zurich and the one that is famous for the Zurich skyline is Grossmunster. The best way to see Zurich though is from what is known as the top of Zurich, Mount Uetilberg. By train from the main station it’ll take a quick 20 minutes, and the view is absolutely worth it. Seeing Zurich and the lake surrounded by mountains and forest is jaw dropping and for a little extra cash you can go even higher up to the top of the observation tower. You might even get lucky like we did and see the hang gliders jumping from the top towards Zurich.

Unlike Geneva where most people speak French you may have to switch it up in Zurich because the majority of people speak German. Most people know some English as well so that should help, but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t. Zurich also has a much more vibrant night life than Geneva so if you are down for a party Zurich will not let you down and if its fine dining or a simple meal to get you by Zurich has it all. Public transportation is simple, easy, and affordable and the more walking you do the better as you will stumble upon beautiful architecture, parks, public squares, monuments etc. that you would never find otherwise.

If you are interested in taking your trip to another level take a day trip to the top of Europe to the top of a mountain called Jungfraujoch. The peak juts out of Europe’s longest glacier and it is always guaranteed snow 365 days of the year. It is also a UNESCO Word heritage site, and besides just the views you can also tour the ice palace there with all of its incredible ice sculptors. So if you want to say you have been to the top of Europe it’s just a day trip away. Do yourself a favor and do what you’ve got to do to find yourself in Zurich! See you there!

You’ll need to rent a car to see the stunning landscapes Colorado has to offer, but it is more than worth it to say the least. Take a drive up pikes peak, just a 15 minute drive from Colorado Springs and be ready to want to stay forever. Feeling like you are on the top of the world, as you often do in Colorado, you will see the lush forests and plains below and if you go in the fall you will see the yellows, reds, oranges and greens below as the leaves change color.

Another must see is Rocky Mountain National Park which is reachable by Denver, the capital city and Boulder as well. Besides it high peaks, rugged valleys, and lush grasslands, Colorado also boasts the largest sand dunes in North America. Yes you read that correctly Colorado has deserts too. In the Great Sand Dunes National Park you can even rent a special board at the Grand Sand Dunes Oasis to try your luck at riding it back down the dunes once you make it to the top

Colorado isn’t only for lovers of nature and adventure though. In the capital city Denver and the rest of the major cities one can find the finest dining, incredible shopping, super hotels, and all the trappings of wealthy living and often times even more so in the ski resort towns throughout the state you will find the most out of this world views from the comforts of some of the most luxurious homes and hotels in the world if you have the money for it.

Overall, one can see and experience the majority of what Colorado has to offer from a modest budget to the highest and everywhere in between. This state is a bucket list destination for sure, and you should get it checked off the list asap. Get ready to have your mind blown! See you in Colorado!

If luxury is for you then look no further than Bukit Bintang where you will find every shopping destination you can dream of and all of the name brands you need. If you are looking for a more traditional shopping experience then the Central Market is the place for you with more local goods, arts and crafts and things that showcase Malaysia’s cultural and ethnic diversity. Kuala Lumpur being located in a tropical climate, it is only natural that there would be tropical rainforest in the city, right?

KL Forest Eco Park is unique to say the least and if you need some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city then this is certainly a fit. Walk the trails of virgin jungle, and enjoy the sounds of many bird species, monkeys and and array of wildlife, none of which will harm you. You can also take the canopy walk through the tops of the jungle over bridges and walkways with a different view and experience altogether. If you see enough of Kuala Lumpur you will experience the third world and the first world all in one, and one thing is for sure, you will not be bored. Lastly, try not to be a picky eater in KL because it has some of the best food in the world! Welcome to Kuala Lumpur!

As Geneva was once known as the Protestant Rome it should not be a surprise that there are so many churches, however the Cathedral of Saint Pierre is certainly the most beautiful and worth it to enjoy the sheer scale and skill that it was built with. If churches don’t bring a sparkle to your eye then the Patek Phillipe Museum surely will. It houses over five centuries of watchmaking history into two important collections: the extraordinary antique collection starting from the 16th century, which includes the earliest watch ever made and the Patek Philippe collection from 1839 onwards. Even if you aren’t a watch person it’s enough to make you go “wow”.

If it is relaxation that you are coming for then Bains De Paquis will make your list. Since 1870 it has been opened to the public boasting saunas, hammams, a 500 meter beach and affordable restaurants with delicious food. it is a local and international favorite, but be sure to get to Geneva between May and September otherwise it’ll be closed. To add to your relaxation there are also many Michelin star restaurants throughout Geneva and wine lists for days. You can also shop till you drop finding everything from antiques to the most postmodern art and fashion. Geneva is an expensive city though so don’t be too shocked when you see some of the price tags.

Geneva is also an international hub of governance so places like the Palace of Nations where the current human rights council of the UN is based is open for visitors, but be sure to book a tour first. It is a huge and imposing complex full of history relevant to today. Don’t forget the Museum of Art and History and the Museum of Natural History as well because the displays will have you gobsmacked as you walk through. You are bound to find your particular niche in Geneva, and if the second biggest city in Switzerland doesn’t suit your tastes, then there are plenty of phenomenal places just a stones throw away which you can read about in the next post. Boasting 129 watchtowers in total, you are bound to see exquisite views throughout the city, but arguably the best view is Torre Tavira which sits at the highest point of the city from where the treasure laden ships could be first spotted coming back from the Americas. You can also visit the Museum in the tower dedicated to the history of Cadiz. The city has no shortage of Museums, but by far the most popular is the Museum of Cadiz which houses ancient antiquities and fine art dating back to Phoenician and Roman times.

If history is not your cup of tea, then perhaps a stroll through the oldest Barrio of Cadiz, “El Populo” will suite your fancy with ancient cobblestone streets, narrow alleys, delicious tapas, good wine, impressive palaces, and even the ruins of a Roman Theater will have your five senses buzzing. There are many other barrios (neighborhoods) throughout Cadiz that are a must to explore, relax and enjoy with photo opportunities at every corner.

With magnificent white sand beaches on the coast of Cadiz, along with gorgeous walkways, and lovely seaside parks, and nearly year round warm sunny days you may feel the urge to stay. The charm of Cadiz and its friendly people put one’s mind at ease and is an invitation to shrug off any stress or busyness that tries to steel your peace and take up your time. Cadiz is a playground for exploration and relaxation all bundled into one and you are sure to have plenty of fun.

A place of grandiose history, culture, good vibes, good food, good wine, amazing weather, a picturesque coastline, and barrios that need days and weeks to fully enjoy, I’m beginning to wonder why I’m not still there myself. But just an hour north, you will find yourself at the DMZ, the Demilitarized Zone where you can see from the garrisons of soldiers there that are available to the public the opposing North Korean border and guard posts. South Korea and North Korea are still officially at war since the Korean War that split the country in two. The North is a communist dictatorship with hardships such as starvation and plagues that are common place due to its leadership and sanctions from other countries, wile South Korea is basically the opposite in every way.

The contrasts are deep to say the least, and the threat of rocket attacks and invasion are very real, but this is something the people of South Korea have grown accustom to and see it simply as part of every day life. This may seem extreme to your average tourist, but it has been the norm since before 1960. To the south you will find the always warm and beautiful island of Jeju where life is slower, more full of nature and less bustling than cities like Seoul, Busan, Gwangju, and Daejeon. In most of Korea you will have all four seasons to look forward to and in the Spring time it is an absolute delight to see the blossoming of nearly every tree in the country.

Besides all of these amazing experiences, South Korea is known for having the best spas and skin treatments in the world. It is the global capital of plastic surgery and cosmetics, and if becoming younger and more beautiful is your goal look no further than Seoul. If you are looking to experience another culture and way of life with all of the comforts of the world as well as the reality of the dangers of it, and to be invited by some of the most welcoming people in the world Korea is for you. Most places have yet to be commercialized outside of main cities which has kept a lot of the natural beauty untouched and in tact as though you were the first person to visit. No long lines for pictures and crowded places as well as open spaces ripe to be explored. Soon to be introduced to the world stage is also a brand new futuristic city called NEOM which has been under construction for years now. The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has already invested 500 billion USD on it with other major investors adding billions more. As the construction is underway other cities are popping up in the Northwest of the Country where NEOM is being built along with highways and byways that are making this beautiful part of Saudi Arabia more readily accessible.

If it is religion that interests you, Mecca the holiest city in Islam would be your cup of tea, and if things like the crossing point of the Red Sea from the Biblical story of the Exodus of Israel and other famous and unexplored places from the Torah, Bible, and Koran are scattered throughout the country ready to be explored. Speaking of religion, if you fancy a glass of wine or a cocktail you will have to go without as the law forbids it outright, but rest assured there is more than enough to keep you occupied otherwise. Be sure to keep Saudi Arabia at the top of you adventure bucket list though because before too long it will be a tourist destination renowned throughout the world, and crowds will inevitably grow larger.

Now is the time to visit the country while you can still see its unobstructed beauty. You will see the finest of things as well as being able to take a step back in time when the people of Saudi Arabia were mostly nomadic people who were experts at thriving in the desert. So whether it is the city life, A/C, fine dining, and world class shopping, or rugged adventure on the high seas, sand dunes, and mountainous terrain, Saudi Arabia has something for everyone. Bilbao is also famous for its night life being the biggest city in the region. You’ll want to do as the Basque do while in Bilbao which means one must eat Pixtos (Basque Tapas), which is how all of the locals socialize while enjoying delicious food going from bar to bar. Another must visit place is The Cathedral of Santiago (Saint James) at the heart of Casco Viejo. The cathedral serves as a stop for pilgrims trekking the northern Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James) which is called so because it’s along this route that Saint James evangelized the north of Spain.

To get a bird’s eye view of the Bilbao, take the Funicular up Mount Artxanda to understand why the locals refer to Bilbao as “The Botxo” or “The Hole” due to it being completely surrounded by mountains. If it’s shopping you’re there for then look no further than the Gran Via where you will find every high fashion and name brand store your heart desires and end up in Plaza Moyua to rest for bit while you shop. If that isn’t enough shopping for you then take a visit to Europe’s largest indoor market, Mercado de la Ribera should be the medicine you need.

Right next to the market is San Anton Bridge the oldest bridge in the city which is conjoined tothe Church of San Antonwhich just so happens to be on the cities coat of arms. If none of the above suits your fancy or you feel like seeing more of Bilbao it would be good to visit Bibao’s largest green space and favorite outdoor destination, Doña Casilda Iturrizar Park. Created more than 100 years ago this magnificent public park has an English style garden, duck pond, water fountains, statues and more for you to enjoy as you stroll through nature away from the noise of the city around you. There are many museums to explore throughout the city, but a must see is Museo de Bellas Artes, one of the finest Museums in all of Spain where you will find works from some of the greatest artists of all time.

If you are looking for a serious adventure, then you will want to take one of Bilbao’s whale watching tours in the Bay of Biscay where you will see razorback whales, long-finned pilot whales and dolphins. And if you are a fan of Game of Thrones or just want to see raw beauty at its finest take a drive 35KM (22 Miles) east from Bilbao to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. The island can be reached via a man-made stone bridge that connects 241 steps to the top of the hill that juts out into the ocean. When you reach the small church at the top it is tradition to ring the bell three times and make a wish, and taking lots of pictures will be good too. Lastly, at least for this post, you can Kayak down the Nervion river through the center of Bilbao to see the city from a different perspective, and get a workout while you’re at it.
